Managing Director
The Business was founded by my father - I joined in 2002 when he was preparing to retire. I had been working in a very similar environment so it didn�t take too long for me to take up the reins so that Dad could retire completely.
Everyone wants to make their own mark and since joining I have been able to build on our solid established base, in particular by adding an in house CAD design facility.
We are very much a real team at VDE � I wouldn�t be here if I had not proven my abilities and neither would any of my colleagues. We pride ourselves on our high level mix of skills and experience � we are individuals but it�s by working together as a team that we give our customers exactly what they want, when they want it and at a fair price.

I joined Van Driel Engineering in 2007 and my feet have hardly touched the ground since.
With nine years of sales experience, I firstly paid particular attention to developing our customer relations � as the first port of call for customers, whether it�s by phone or face to face, it�s crucial that I understand our customer�s requirements and can answer their queries quickly and efficiently.
In addition I manage the busy office and our accounts section � recently we have commissioned a computer program, specially designed for the Engineering industry, that manages all our systems from customer order through materials, workshop time to accounts and right up to trial balance: It�s been a real success and has brought all our processes together into one easy and fast to access system which has definitely been of benefit, not only to ourselves but to the efficiency of the service we can give our customers . It�s been a challenge to introduce � all I can say is thank goodness for our on-going training and development policies!

Production Director
My engineering career started with a full apprenticeship, followed by a decade working for a number of top local companies as a skilled CNC operator.
I joined VDE in 1997 when the company was still quite small; I was employed in the Machine Shop initially but as the company � and my own experience grew, I was able to contribute more fully to the overall management of the business and eventually took up the post of Production Director.
Managing our quality team of fabricators and machinists is a varied and interesting job � we pride ourselves on promoting good working relationships within the production team but most importantly, with our customers.
